Palliative Care

Caring for a loved one with a terminal condition can be extremely difficult, both emotionally and understanding all of the needs and medications that come with providing care. Our Support Assistants can either provide on-demand or live-in care to ensure that your loved one is as comfortable as possible. We work in conjunction with nurses, GPs, and other professionals to ensure that the standard of care provided is equal to or surpasses the alternatives.

Cancer treatment and diagnosis can be even more distressing when they have to occur away from Myriad Care, in hostels and hospitals. Our Support Assistants are specifically trained to help you overcome the challenges that come with living with cancer, and to provide quality care in the comfort of your own Myriad Care so that you can continue to live a normal, happy life in familiar surroundings with the people you love.

Dementia is a difficult illness to care for, and ultimately most dementia patients require round the clock care to ensure that they are safe and well. Everyday tasks can become difficult or impossible, but receiving dementia care at Myriad Care has significant benefits. We understand the impact that maintaining consistency and familiarity can have for people suffering with dementia – being surrounded by sentimental items can alleviate confusion and reduce distress. We have a number of tailored dementia care packages specifically created for the different types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s, Frontal Temporal (Picks), Lewy Body, Vascular, and other variants of the illness.

Post-Operative Care

Patients are typically released from hospital before they have completely recovered from surgery, meaning that they need time and support to recover both physically and mentally. Proper rehabilitation after surgery is as important as the operation itself; recuperating in a familiar atmosphere makes it considerably easier to get back into your normal routines and means that your family and friends can provide emotional support without shouldering the majority of your physical care needs. Our Support Assistants can help to re-dress wounds, prevent infection, help with physiotherapy, and ensure that all of your needs are met while you recover at Myriad Care.

ing with a mental illness can have a significant impact on daily life – without proper support and management, a mental illness can be a catalyst for a variety of medical complications and require hospitalisation. Our Support Assistants can support people with a wide range of disorders, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, anorexia, and obsessive compulsive disorder to encourage healthy patterns, reduce triggers, and help every client live independently.
